At Ascend Camp and Retreat Center we pride ourselves to be a friendly and welcoming camp for groups, families, scouts, schools, and everybody in the heart of Dallas Texas.

With the increase in demand for our horsemanship program, we are looking for expanding our team with those who share with us the same values, and ambition within a fun and lovely environment.

This position will be responsible for overseeing the care of the horses associated with equine management and Trail Rides. Provide a safe, clean, and enjoyable environment for all guests and visitors, by monitoring daily programs and day-to-day operations, consistently monitoring and enforcing safety rules, and ensuring all policies and procedures are followed. Provide necessary care for horses, including feeding, watering, and grooming.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND TASKS:

• Leading guests on trail/corral rides, providing instruction and assistance where necessary.
• Ability to assist with horse riding lessons if necessary.
• Feeding, grooming, and providing all care for thirteen horses.
• Cleaning and maintaining stables, including pens/paddocks, tack room, feed room and hay barn. Maintaining pasture areas, including fencing and trails.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

• High school diploma or GED
• 2-4 years of hands-on Equine experience is required
• At least 1-year experience leading trail rides/horse rides
• 1-year customer service
• Education in an Equine program a plus

QUALIFICATIONS

• Strong communication skills
• Able to work under limited supervision.
• Team worker, but able to manage individual work.
• Must be at least 18 years of age with a valid driver’s license'
