Overview: This position performs data entry, analysis, and reporting in the Sacramento County Clarity Homeless Management Information System (HMIS).

The HMIS Data Entry Clerk supports the Data Team in the ongoing process of data collection, entry, storage, analysis, and ensuring accessible, secure, high-integrity data. The person in this position assists with monthly, quarterly, and annual dashboard reports for customers, organizational leadership, and Board of Directors on organizational performance & outcomes and grants. City Net’s programs follow Housing First and Harm Reduction service models.

Please note that while this position is remote, the candidate may be required to attend onsite meetings and trainings as necessary in Sacramento, CA. City Net will only consider California Residents for this role.

Requirements
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent professional boundaries
  • Thorough knowledge of the principles of English writing and grammar, including proper report and correspondence format, correct spelling and proper word usage, punctuation, and sentence structure
  • Ability to key data at a rate acceptable for position requirements (keyboard at a corrected rate of 5,000-10,000 keystrokes per hour with a minimum rate of 85% accuracy)
  • Understand the procedures and regulations governing HMIS, and the terminology and documents used, and applies that knowledge to the operations of the office
  • Ability to develop and maintain effective time management system to manage multiple projects with multiple timeframes
  • Ability to plan and prioritize assignments and meet various deadlines
  • Ability to evaluate and select the most appropriate option based on the criteria for assignment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Demonstrate use of proper spelling and grammar to correctly enter data into computerized systems
Nice to Have
  • Background with Clarity and ServicePoint are strongly preferred
Essential Functions
  • Reviews documents for completeness, accuracy, and consistency in accordance with policies and procedures prior to entry
  • Reviews discrepancies in data received, requests clarification or advises supervisor on issues related to data, and performs data verification routines in accordance with procedures
  • Extracts data from documents and codes for entry
  • Batches and routes documents
  • Generates reports, charts, and graphs
  • Operates peripheral equipment such as scanners, printers, and iPhone
  • Maintains statistics using spreadsheets
  • Produce a variety of complex materials requiring the use of advanced keyboarding and correction skills
