THE MODERN HOME OF AMERICAN GOLF
Located 30 miles north of downtown Dallas, Omni PGA Frisco Resort is the largest resort currently in development in the country. Opening spring 2023, the resort will feature 500 guest rooms and suites, 10 four-bedroom ranch houses, three pools, including an adults-only rooftop infinity pool, a destination spa, Lounge by Top Golf, and over 127,000-square feet of indoor and outdoor meeting and event space. An expansive retail and entertainment district will feature dining, shopping and an outdoor stage set to be activated for concerts and outdoor programming. The Resort will become a leading destination for golf providing an unparalleled experience for those who are advanced players, new to the game, and everything in between. The resort will offer 46 holes of golf designed by Beau Welling and Gil Hanse, including two 18-hole championship golf courses, a lighted 10-hole short course, and a lighted two-acre putting green.
Opening in Spring 2023, the Omni PGA Frisco Resort will be the preeminent resort in North Texas. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity as the opening Group Golf Sales Manager to help launch one of the most dynamic and comprehensive resorts in the country.
In partnership with PGA of America, the Omni PGA Frisco Resort will feature unmatched wellness and recreational amenities with two championship 18-hole golf courses along with a third short course, 500 guest rooms and suites, vast function facilities including the 127,000 conference center complex, numerous dining and entertainment options, an elaborate retail village which includes a TopGolf lounge within the complex.
The ideal candidate for this will be responsible for the selling and servicing of local golf tournaments and leisure golf groups under 11 people, and providing a memorable booking and stay experience. Also, the candidate will be responsible for achieving golf and group tournament budget, developing and implementing sales action plans, maintaining positive interdepartmental communications and to complete special projects as assigned by the Director of Sales & Marketing and Director of Sales.
- Proactively handle of all needs for golf groups under 11 people for guestroom and tee time bookings, and local golf tournaments up to 365 days in advance
- Respond to and follow up on all inquiries within 24 hours
- Build and strengthen relationships with current and new clients to include prospecting, entertainment, site inspections, etc.
- Proactively prospect to secure golf groups from other high-end resort destinations
- Partner with hotel group sales team to effectively place golf programs
- Generate proposals and short-form contracts
- Book rooms, golf, catering functions, transportation, dining, and recreational activities
- Promote upsell opportunities to suites/ranch houses
- Follow up with client to ensure that contractual items, rooming list, and all completed forms are received in a timely manner
- Conduct site inspections for potential clients
- Update and maintain client files including contracts, booking patterns, receipt of rooming list form, itinerary and other pertinent information on rooms, golf, meals, and functions.
- Collect any required deposits and final payments due
- Prepare detailed documents to include banquet event orders and resumes
- Confirm all information on resume with appropriate departments to include banquet event orders, amenity forms, and memos to pro shops
- Solicit retail purchases (shirts, hats, etc.)
- Enter appropriate group booking data in hotel reservation and Delphi systems
- Coordinate confirmations and deposits for individually booked group attendees
- Communicate pertinent information to other departments through verbal and written correspondence.
- Participate in budget process and define property goals as it pertains to the position
- Produce/manage reports (sales activities/pace) and attend daily business review meetings
- Collaborate with club general manager, director of golf, head professionals and golf associates to deliver a memorable group golf experience
- Four-year college degree (preferred)
- PGA Class A membership (preferred)
- Excellent communication skills (written, verbal, proofreading)
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Upper-upscale/luxury resort golf sales experience (preferred)
- Experience working in a pre-opening environment (preferred)
- Ability to proactively prospect new clients through phone calls, e-mails, tradeshows, etc.
- Ability to work flexible shifts to include holidays and weekends as needed
