Uptown Jungle Fun Park is looking for its next General Manager to lead our Chandler, Arizona team.

About Uptown Jungle Fun Park

In 2014, Uptown Jungle Fun Park opened its first location in Santee, CA. Since then it’s been busy thrilling customers, expanding our brand, and making profits. The second location was opened in Mesa, AZ seeing over 1,000 people a day during its first spring and summer. The third location in Murrieta, CA, opened in January of 2018, and saw over 6,000 people walk through the doors during it’s opening weekend. The fourth location opened in Peoria, AZ in May 2018, the fifth location opened in Chandler, AZ in August of 2018, the sixth location opened in Henderson, NV in April 2019, the 7th location opened in Avondale, AZ in September of 2018, and the eighth location opened in North Las Vegas, NV in May of 2020. Uptown Jungle prides itself with an ideal niche market of children ages 3 to 13 and does a third of its business in birthday parties. Trampoline parks are fun, but we wanted to design a concept that provided enough fun for all ages that not only would a child not run out of fun, but would want to continually come back. Uptown Jungle prides itself in its three quality standards: Safety, Cleanliness, and UJX (customer experience), and focuses on its key values: Culture, Employee Development, and Profitability. It looks to expand across the nation and become known as one of the best family entertainment centers in the nation. RESPONSIBILITIES

The General Manager sits as the leader of each individual park and is responsible for the overall profitability, experience, and success of its park. This position reports to the Director of Sales. It is supported by the Leadership Team in the areas of accounting, sales, marketing, legal, HR, and the set standards by which to fulfill the position successfully. Even though the General Manager is not responsible for fulfilling these areas as they are supported by the Leadership Team, the General Manager will be asked to help and be involved in the growth of the company, setting new standards, and improving processes and practices. The General Manager’s areas of focus are as follows:

Employee Development

· Meets with employees regularly to help them achieve their professional and personal goals.

· Always looks for teaching moments to help others improve and grow.

· Uses concepts of “situational leadership” to help others become better leaders and support their fellow employees.

· Create a winning culture of teamwork, ownership, and coachability.

Sales

· Support corporate marketing efforts by keeping staff informed and offers ongoing marketing deals.

· Reach out to community, non-profits, sports teams, and schools for fundraising opportunities, and community outreach programs.

· Reach out to companies, groups, sports teams, and schools for group sales to the park.

· Will work with Director of Sales to bring in group sales and oversee the success of these events

· Oversee day to day sales and communicate needs to the Director of Sales for better marketing support.

· Support salespeople within team.

Team Leadership

· Work with two assistant full-time managers in areas of sales and operations to support them in completing their jobs. Fill in for these managers when needs warrant.

· Hold weekly management meetings with your managers to train, support, develop, encourage, and to solve issues in park.

Team Support

· Be part of a team of General Managers where you offer and receive support, encourage others’ goals, learn to improve your job performance, and help support and train new General Managers.

· Attend weekly one-on-one meetings with the Regional Director.

· Attend weekly GM meetings and quarterly General Manager Summits.

· Accept and complete assignments as given.

· Adhere to company structure and standards and make suggestions for improvement as seen fit.

Quality Standards

· Safety: Safety is our number one concern and goal. Constantly look for areas to improve and develop a culture of safety. Ensure all employees are trained and following company rules and policies.

· Cleanliness: We aspire to be the cleanest entertainment park in our industry. Work with managers to ensure park is always clean, functioning, and void of needed repairs. Ensure all employees understand and know basic cleaning principles.

· UJX: Uptown Jungle Experience. UJX seeks to differentiate our customer experience from every other park as a competitive advantage. Constantly look for ways to teach and train employees to improve customer service. We want people coming back for the service. The General Manager is in charge of all customer service, and responsible in making sure every customer complaint is heard and dealt with. They are also responsible for promoting fun for both guests and employees.

Facilities

· Maintain park in a superior level of maintenance and cleanliness.

· Work with and manage vendors that work in the park.

· Work with and manage vendors that supply your inventory and supply.

Human Resources

· Upkeep weekly hours and run payroll in our currently provided HR system.

· Address all HR issues with help of HR consultant company.

· Ensure that all local, state, and federal employment laws are being met and that employees are adhering to company policies.

· Manage all hiring, promotions, and terminations as needed.

Finance

· Achieve financial goals relative to overall performance of the park.

· Manage specific areas of financial focus to achieve financial goals.

· Adhere to financial policy and guidelines for purchasing, inventory, cash management

An ideal candidate will possess the following qualities:

· Work Ethic & Ownership: Problems and issues will arise, and people will call out sick. There will be times that the General Manager must rise up to see that things get done and that there is adequate service in their park. This requires extra hours, hard work, and extreme ownership to take charge of these types of situations.

· Coachable: As great as a candidate someone maybe for this position, a General Manager must always understand that they do not know everything and that there is always room for improvement. They must continually look for room to improve their park and themselves.

· Passion for people: This is the most important part of the position. As much authority a General Manager has, the power to improve the park and the experience there, rests solely on the employees. There must be a passion and love for the employees, wanting to see them succeed. If this exists, employees will want to come to work and grow in the company. Work will be fun and enjoyable and will result in fun and enjoyment for the customers as well.

· Vision: Can recognize new opportunities and problem solve effectively. Continually looking for ways to grow the business.

An ideal candidate will possess the following skills and experience:

· College degree is not required, but preferred. Some college level education should be acquired through college work or job experience in the areas of business communication, basic accounting, basic math, marketing, and communication.

· Computer skills, proficient in Microsoft programs Excel, Word, and Outlook.

· 3+ years’ experience in managerial position over other employees.

· Exceptional communication skills. Must be exceptional listener and out-of-the-box thinker to resolve both customer and employee issues.

· Great connections in the Chandler area. We are looking for someone that has strong contacts and local knowledge to be able to excel in outside sales and community outreach. This person would be very familiar with local schools, sports leagues, non-profits, youth organizations, and our core customer base of young families. A candidate with these types of connections and experience will have much higher consideration than those that do not.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $68,000.00 - $78,000.00 per year
