Job description
The Position:
The Fundraising & Development Manager reports to the Executive Director and works collaboratively with Turning Point staff to ensure adequate resources for the organization. Key functions include grant writing, reporting, and special events.
Primary Responsibilities Include:
Ø Managing institutional and foundation fundraising efforts, including grant research and writing, maintaining a grants calendar, compiling reports, and preparing organizational documents for foundation submission
Ø Developing and maintaining a donor database and executing prompt acknowledgment of donations
Ø Planning and executing the annual fund campaigns (Spring appeal, Giving Tuesday, and EOY campaign)
Ø Assisting with the planning and execution of fundraising events
Ø Researching donor/foundation prospects and maintaining a donor/foundation prospect list
Ø Assisting with monitoring and assuring organizational contract compliance
Ø Manage individual engagement, cultivation, and stewardship activities
Ø Collaborate with the communications department to ensure consistent messaging
Ø Liaise across departments, with significant collaboration with the executive, programs, and finance departments
Ø Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Ø Minimum of 4-5 years experience in non-profit development, or equivalent, which should include demonstrated fundraising, event planning, and prospecting experience
Ø Well-developed writing skills
Ø Excellent organization, human relations, and communication skills
Ø Profound passion for and commitment to the liberation of all people
Ø Previous personal experience with conviction/incarceration and knowledge of the impacts of incarceration on families and communities preferred
Compensation:
Salary range: $80,000 - $95,000. Competitive starting salary based on experience.
Terms of Employment:
Candidate must live in the Los Angeles region and have regular use of a personal vehicle; some travel isrequired. This position is an in-office role (not remote).
