Fire Extinguisher Tech Service
Gallagher Fire Equipment Co is a top tier firm in the Fire Protection, Fire Life Safety, and low voltage Fire Alarm industries. Due to recent growth, we are seeking a Fire Extinguisher Technician to join our team in the Livonia office. This is a full-time position eligible for full benefits including health, dental, 401k and paid time off.
Job purpose
This position will entail performing required recertification inspections and service of fire protection equipment. We expect our service technicians to be self-driven, with the ability to complete the work-load provided. We expect a 40-hour minimum work week. A valid driver's license with a good record (no DUIs) is required.
Duties and responsibilities
- Perform inspections and service on a variety of fire protection equipment to include portable fire extinguishers and emergency lighting.
- Seek out additional sales and service opportunities within existing customer locations and advise the customer of compliance needs.
- Develop long term relationships with customers and maintain customer retention.
Qualifications
- Mechanical ability and basic hand tool knowledge
- Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs+, safely use ladders, work overhead and work in tight spaces
- Work efficiently with minimal supervision
- Organizational skills are essential for Success
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to learn quickly is a must
Compensation/Benefits
Compensation/Benefits: Gallagher Fire offers an attractive comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, prescriptions, dental insurance, 401k, paid holidays, and paid time off. A company service vehicle, tools and partial company uniform are provided.
