Compensation: $59,000 - $85,000 based on experience and credentials
Schedule: Monday through Friday 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM (flexible hybrid)
The Financial Analyst provides support and analysis for finance-related functions such as financial reporting, profitability analysis, investments, and liquidity analysis. This individual conducts a variety of financial analyses and forecasting to aid in the completion of credit union projects and product development. An ideal candidate demonstrates excellent analytical skills and a thorough understanding of liquidity management.

Responsibilities:
  • Conduct routine and non-routine financial analysis
  • Assist with operating budget preparation and reporting
  • Coordinate internal and external audit functions
  • Develop and maintain a variety of financial models and reports
  • Analyze the loan portfolio to discover the sources of trends by identifying strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats
  • Present trends, opportunities, and issues to ALCO, and make recommendations for action
  • Monitor the cash position at the Federal Reserve, other financial institutions, ATMs, and branches.
  • Assist with monitoring liquidity risks
  • Develop and implement “report writer” reports
  • Collect data from the database by data mining
  • Communicate trends and results regarding ALM, credit analytics, and investments
  • Prepare minutes from quarterly assessment meetings regarding ALM results and credit analytic results
  • Support the preparation of Suncoast’s financial forecasts and budgets
  • Prepare and analyze profitability reports for branches and departments
  • Direct and organize the preparation of the annual operating budget
  • Review budget variances and report the results to management
  • Coordinate schedules, activities, and other necessary information for auditors and NCUA examiners pertaining to credit analytics
  • Review and develop accounting policies and procedures
  • Recommend efficiency improvements or methods to strengthen controls
  • Maintain knowledge and understanding of current trends, laws, and issues affecting the area of expertise
  • Attend educational events to increase professional knowledge
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
  • 3+ years of accounting or financial analysis experience, preferably with a financial institution
  • Experience with liquidity management, including evaluating liquidity risk exposure
  • Excellent analytical skills including root cause and trend analysis
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel, including Power Query, Power Pivot and V-lookups
  • Proficient with Microsoft Visual Studio, Microsoft SQL Server 2012, SQL Server Reporting/ Report Builder, SQL Server Integration Service, Analysis Services, and Microsoft SharePoint 2010
  • Proficient with data visualization tools such as Power Bi or Tableau
  • Ability to prioritize tasks by effectively managing competing and changing priorities to meet required deadlines
  • Accurate, detail-oriented, and organized with task management
  • Ability to analyze and resolve difficult and complex problems
  • Good knowledge and understanding of regulatory compliance necessary to successfully perform job responsibilities
  • Good written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills to interact effectively with members, staff, vendors, and government regulators
  • Ability to influence others regarding policies, practices, and procedures
