The Fischer Farm Maintenance position is responsible for the upkeep and custodial duties at Fischer Farm.

DUTIES AND ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

• Create a warm and welcoming atmosphere for all farm visitors.
• Perform custodial tasks including cleaning, dusting, vacuuming, waste removal etc.
• Assist with cleaning and maintenance of farm outbuildings and grounds.
• Perform building and equipment repairs as needed.
• Perform set up and take down of chairs and tables for private rentals and events
• Safely operate hand tools, gas powered equipment, power tools, farm vehicles etc.
• Assist with livestock care as needed.
• Perform Snow removal and mowing.
• Assist with planting, cultivating and harvesting crops as needed.
• Perform general landscape work for beautification of the property
• Loading/unloading straw bales, hay bales, and 50-pound feed bags.
• Respond to emergency situations as needed.
• Work overtime as needed.
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

• This position requires any combination of training, education, and experience equivalent to a High School Diploma/GED .
• At least three years of similar experience.
• Willingness to work outdoors and in unheated/uncooled outbuildings during inclement weather and temperature extremes.
• Must be able to communicate verbally and in written English.
• Be able to solve problems independently and work unsupervised in most situations.
• Ability to communicate and interact with staff and the public in a positive and friendly manner.
• Carpentry skills preferred.
• Animal handling experience a plus, but not required.

SALARY $18.00 per hour

HOURS 40 hours per week. Typically, Monday through Friday but with occasional evenings and weekends
