Full Time with benefits – Tuesday – Friday 3:30pm – 12:00am, Saturday 9:30am – 6:00pm
Pay: $19.00/hr.
Requirements:
· Must be at least 21 years old and possess a valid driver’s license
· Must have 3 years of general maintenance experience in a lead position with plant operations and equipment maintenance while following all safety procedures
· Have a willingness and ability to troubleshoot, follow directions, and discern what actions to take in a variety of situations that may arise at YMCA sites, as well as follow established safety and work guidelines
· Excellent communication, organizational and customer service skills a must
· Must be CPR (AED) and First Aid certified (within 90 days of employment) and able to respond to a variety of medical & facility emergencies including medical/first aid, fire emergencies, building evacuation, and utility/building system failures
Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsible for providing support of the maintenance, housekeeping, and grounds functions at the YMCA properties, as well as providing evening supervision of the facilities and nightly closing procedures.
· Assist with mechanical repairs & housekeeping duties – ½ of the day will be devoted to assisting team members with routine maintenance and housekeeping duties
· Assist with snow & ice removal as needed
· Perform facilities and grounds maintenance duties including: mowing, edging, weed whacking, trimming, mulching, planting and related seasonal tasks
· Clean up and disinfection of an area due to potential blood-borne pathogen exposure
· Respond to medical and facility emergencies
· May need to diffuse confrontations between members, guests or staff if they are the primary lead staff on duty
· Able to cover other Facilities staff at both locations when they are out for vacations, days off
· During evening hours, main responsibility will be supervising the building on campus and maintaining cleanliness of member areas
· Act as a point of contact when a Department Director is not available – conduct rounds of the building on an hourly basis
· Serve as the liaison for the Facilities Director when they are not on site. Reports any issues that may have arisen during their shift via email, text or voice message
· May need to cover other front line staff who need a quick break Ex: Front Desk staff. Leave that area as soon as the staff person has returned
· Perform general maintenance duties to include: Setting up and breaking down of tables and chairs for meetings, picking up trash, emptying/cleaning garbage cans, cleaning restrooms, and re-stocking of supplies nightly in all dispensers
· Perform general Housekeeping duties to include vacuuming in common areas and locker rooms. Cleaning of locker rooms – picking up trash, wiping down chrome, counters, toilets, spot cleaning showers, wet mopping floors (display wet floor signs if needed)
· Must wear uniform while on duty (staff shirt, name tag, Y radio)
· Check Room Reservation sheet nightly at the Front Desk upon arrival, and then assist or complete set up and break down as required
· At Closing time, ensure that all staff and members have left the building. Turn off sauna and appropriate lights, and secure front door, perimeter doors and windows
· Refer to security cameras if needed during incidents and complete Incident/Accident report if warranted. Reports should be turned into the appropriate Senior staff person
