Job Description

The Facilities Operations Supervisor is responsible for developing preventative maintenance programs for all equipment and unit conditions in coordination with Georgetown Facilities and approved Aramark vendors. Creating and tracking work orders and repair requests with tracking for reporting purposes. Facilitates the conditions of detailed maintenance and preventative maintenance contracts, through visual inspection, organization, planning for repair/replace. May be responsible for performing a variety of work including the maintenance and repair of needed equipment and facilities. Ensures all food service operations comply with Hoya Hospitality and Georgetown University’s contractual obligations requiring proper and continual maintenance of equipment and facilities and are maintained in compliance to local laws and regulations. Maintains use and repair records, manages repairs, maintenance logs and on-site repairs. Recommends repair or replace based on value and condition of equipment if repairs exceed the value of the equipment being repaired.

Job Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate the work of others
  • Schedules and assigns daily work assignments to a team and oversees the completion of tasks
  • Inspects assigned areas on a routine basis and performs maintenance where necessary to keep facilities in functioning and serviceable condition
  • Completes daily, weekly and monthly checklists of pre-scheduled building and equipment maintenance procedures in coordination with university facilities leadership
  • Repairs various fixtures and hardware such as doors, windows, minor appliance repairs, wall and paint, replacement of lightbulbs, office & kitchen equipment, etc.
  • Reports on any major appliance/equipment maintenance needed and recommends corrective action ensuring follow up on next steps
  • Demonstrates excellent customer service using Hoya Hospitality standard model. Implements communication strategies as provided by operational excellence
  • Coordinates activities with other departments as appropriate.
  • Ensures compliance with Hoya Hospitality’s food, occupational, and environmental safety policies in all food service locations, culinary and kitchen operations. Complies with all applicable policies, rules, and regulations, including (but not limited to) those relating to safety, health, and wage and hour practices.
  • All other duties as assigned by GU Management

Qualifications

  • Requires at least 3-years’ of experience, including and prior experience in an equipment and property maintenance and repair role.
  • Exercise considerable judgement based on previous experience to solve problems
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • Operates and is productive with limited supervision
  • Financial acumen, creative problem solving, and customer savviness.
  • Demonstrates interpersonal and communicative skills and both written and verbal
  • A strong value system, unquestioned integrity, and good listening skills.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Superior organizational skills
  • Able to work flexible hours, weekends and evenings based on routine and/or emergency repairs
  • Strong ability to plan, develop, and coordinate to ensure task completion
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Ability to effectively communicate with individuals across various levels of the account; including employees, vendors, and clients
  • This role may have physical demands including, but not limited to, lifting, bending, pushing, pulling and/or extended walking and standing. This role may also require uniforms and/or usage of Personal Protective equipment (PPE).
