About us

The Ithaca Ice Company is a small business in Dryden, NY. We are an agile, innovative, and creative company with our goal being to reliably make and supply high quality bulk and packaged ice in servicing a 50 mile radius in Central NY.

We are seeking a Facility Manager to repair and maintain of our small manufacturing and distribution facility. This newly created position requires the smooth operation of the facility. The goal is to optimize the longevity, efficiency, and appearance of the Ice Company. This includes all manufacturing equipment, material handling equipment, storage freezers, controls, ice chests, as well as the general facility.

Success in this area is receiving a perfect audit score from the Packaged Ice Quality Control Standards (PIQCS) by the International Packaged Ice Association (IPIA ). Once accomplished, candidate is to receive a $3,000 bonus.

This person needs to create a system for tracking jobs and maintenance items and to communicate as necessary each day with other employees. Intimate learning about the equipment and their processes is a must. Winter hours are reduced to half time.

Responsibilities include:

• Maintaining and doing minor equipment and facility repairs.
• Facility needs to continue to pass fire inspections, code inspections, etc.

Must be:

• Well-organized, attentive to detail
• Comfortable with working on ladders
• Comfortable with and working around electricity and machinery
• Enjoy learning and doing varying types of work
• Ability and patience to read through and comprehend user and service manuals
• Basic computer/smartphone skills in order to research parts, manuals, and place orders and speak with support staff.
• Self-starter, responsible attitude to create a clean, smooth-running small manufacturing and distribution facility that you can take pride in
• Experience in refrigeration is a plus. Training available

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
