EMT- Emergency Services

Provides health care services in assigned unit as directed and under the direction of the RN. Is responsible for performing non-professional nursing tasks in the care and comfort of Emergency Department patients. Performs specific treatments/procedures under the direction of the RN. Maintains clean and orderly patient care areas, equipment and supplies. Restock inventories and supplies to keep supplies readily available. May be needed to work beyond the regular tour of duty or in another patient care unit as assigned by department head or nursing supervisor.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS (including required licenses/certifications, education and job knowledge/experience):

Minimum Education: Graduation form an Emergency Medical Technician program.

Preferred Education: Completion of Unit Secretary and medical terminology courses.

Required Licensure/Certification: FL Emergency Medical Technician license in good standing; BLS certification, prior to hire.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Effective oral and written communication skills. Ability to perform effectively in a fast paced, stressful environment
