MFC is seeking an Electrical Design Engineer to design and analyze military and commercial equipment for various programs. The position involves researching power conversion technologies for both high power (DC-DC, DC-AC converter applications in 5-500kW+ range) and low-voltage DC circuit card supply rails. The position requires an advanced degree in power electronics or related work experience, and a demonstrated ability to do research on innovative power technologies. The candidate should also have lab skills such as prototyping, testing, and debugging electronics hardware. Experience with magnetics design, EMI/EMC design and analysis, power quality, and feedback/control loop analysis are considered a plus.
Responsibilities will include working with other engineers to design, analyze, and test equipment. Must be able to work on an integrated product team, interacting with engineers, technicians, subcontractors, customers, and vendors. Candidate must have strong attention to detail, interpersonal skills, ability to multitask, organizational skills, and computer literacy. Ability and willingness to obtain a security clearance a must. Occasional travel may be required. The successful candidate may be required to work more than 40 hours a week on short notice.

The Locale: Archbald is located in Northeastern Pennsylvania and is part of Lackawanna County in the Blue Ridge Mountain range. The entire region is about 100 miles from both New York City and Philadelphia. Archbald is a suburb of Scranton, PA. The city of Scranton hosts five colleges and universities: Lackawanna College, Marywood University, The University of Scranton, Johnson College, and The Commonwealth Medical College and one technical school, Fortis Institute. Where can you get to from Archbald? Philadelphia is 2.5 hours to the south, and NYC is two hours to the southeast. Binghamton, NY is an hour north of Archbald. The Pocono Mountains and Lake Wallenpaupack are nearby. The Northeastern PA region offers an excellent cost of living and is a great place to live.
Basic Qualifications:
Advanced degree or work experience in power electronics design and analysis.
DC Circuit card design and analysis experience.
Electronics lab experience
Ability to obtain a secret security clearance
The candidate must be a US citizen.
Desired Skills:
Magnetics design experience or training.
EMI/EMC design and analysis experience or training.
Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
