Department Overview
The Contract Planning Department develops partnerships with contractors for Electric Distribution Operations maintenance and construction work. Partners with Program Managers, Sourcing, Contract Execution, and Contractors to plan and develop contracts for execution through budget planning, scope development, and bid review. Ensures contract cost recovery and reduces risk to customers and stakeholders. Ensures accurate execution of contract terms and conditions. Provides internal stakeholders with contract information and interpretation.

Position Summary
The Electric Contract Specialist job profile is responsible for the management of electrical, substation, civil and transmission maintenance, construction and service commercial contracts in Electric Operations. Incumbents work closely with key Electric Operations departments and functions including project managers, construction managers, engineering, law, sourcing and others to ensure that all commercial contracts are enforced according to the general and project-specific conditions.

PG&E is providing the salary range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity.

A reasonable salary range is:
Bay Area Minimum: $​78,000
Bay Area Maximum: $​116,000

&/OR​

California Minimum: $​74,000
California Maximum: $​110,000

Job Responsibilities
Under limited supervision, prepares CWA’s and other contracts. Supports the development of contracts, bids, agreements and request for proposals (RFPs)
Reviews the validity of change order requests, negotiates co-terms and amounts and prepares contract change orders from field change order summaries
Handles contractor relationships to continually improve quality, service and cost
Conducts negotiations with contractors and service providers to acquire favorable commercial terms and mitigate risk
Maintains legal requirements for contracts, makes updates as required, and works with Law on contract review
Attends project meetings to provide contract expertise
Supports senior contract specialists with contract dispute resolution research and analysis
Supports the identification and mitigation of contract risk and issues
Participates in contract closeout and lessons learned reviews
Prepares and delivers contract status reporting

Qualifications

Minimum:
High School or GED-General Educational Development-GED Diploma
3 years job-related experience

Desired:
Bachelors Degree in Business Administration or job-related discipline or equivalent experience
Utility industry experience
Experience in project controls, or related
PMI-Project Management Institute PMP-Project Management Professional certification
SPSM-Senior Professional in Supply Management certification
CPP-Certified Purchasing Professional Certification
