DSHS FFA Fiscal Analyst 1
If you are a detail-oriented person who enjoys working with numbers, please consider this exciting opportunity to work for the Facilities, Finance and Analytics Administration (FFA) in Tacoma, WA.
In this role, you will perform a variety of accounting functions including asset management; telecommunications, staff travel, purchase orders, and purchase cards. Your experience and attention to detail will support our mission to Transform Lives by ensuring prompt and accurate data entry.
This position is eligible for a hybrid telework schedule, which requires a minimum of 1 day in the office per week. This may vary depending on business needs. Pierce County employees are eligible to receive an Orca Card for transportation needs.
Some of what you'll do:
Review, prepares, processes, and transmits payment documents via the Financial Tool Box, for payment through Agency Financial Reporting System (AFRS
Coordinator for TRACKS access for E-purchasing and Asset Management for Administrations and the Regional Business Center
Train new field staff in TRACKS system, and procurement procedures
Arranges travel, hotel, and car reservations for staff traveling in or out of state for training conferences. meetings, and transporting clients
Prepares and updates vendor number requests for vendors, employees, and volunteers
Completes the Consolidated Business Services annual inventory and assist administrations in completing their annual inventories.
What we are looking for:
- Knowledge about and understanding theory and practice of accounting; principles of cost accounting; modern office methods
- Ability to process large quantities of fiscal data with consistency, accuracy, and efficiency
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with staff at all levels. Optimize limited resources, and support the organizational goals
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook

Professionals with a Master's degree in a financial related field, certification as a Public Accountant, Internal Auditor, Certified Governmental Financial Manager or Management Accountant can be substituted for professional experience.
Professional experience may substitute for education but not usually for the credit hours.
