POSITION SUMMARY*
Oakley Transport Driver Managers are the primary source of communication with our drivers. They are responsible for building positive relationships between drivers and the company while managing key aspects of productivity and profitability. They are accountable for ensuring safe standards of operation while meeting all customer requirements. They must be able to effectively communicate load information, provide logistic support, and solve problems.
Essential Functions:

  • Communication with drivers, including, but not limited to, load information, purchase orders, maintenance coordination, performance counseling and dissemination of general company news and information.
  • Ensure that each driver has an adequate understanding of all customer requirements and company expectations
  • Support food safety and quality requirements
  • Report quality and food safety problems
  • Ensure driver success through relationship building, effective communication, positive recognition and timely addressing of issues, both personal and performance related
  • Hold drivers accountable for quality performance

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Strong knowledge of the transportation industry and equipment
  • High School diploma or equivalent required
  • Bachelor's degree or some post-secondary education preferred
  • Effective oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to positively influence
  • Comfortable with technology; knowledge of Microsoft Office, specifically Outlook, Word and Excel
  • Ability to operate phone, fax, voicemail and Qualcomm communications systems
