The Director of IT and Facilities is responsible for the development and implementation of GCC’s IT and facilities strategies. This position collaborates with all department areas to provide IT solutions that increase the efficiency and effectiveness of their work. This position is also responsible for overseeing the physical facilities. This position plays an integral role in the development, execution, and implementation of IT and Facilities strategies that support GCC’s mission.

Requirements:

Job Requirements:

General

  • Provide IT operational support to all GCC users as necessary
  • Provide staff support for administrative tasks and projects relative to the desktop operations, such as the Microsoft suite, GCC’s room reservation system, telephones, and other IT and information systems used by GCC
  • Maintain users in our network and operating systems by providing appropriate access and adding/deleting access, as necessary
  • Supervise and maintain email distribution lists, user groups, and SharePoint access
  • Supervise onboarding of inexperienced staff
  • Manage and supervise new computer install of hardware, software, and operating systems
  • Organize, schedule, and communicate to users upgrades and maintenance as needed
  • Perform any additional duties as assigned

Administrative Services

  • Manage IT and Facility related vendor relationships and engage vendors as, necessary
  • With the Senior Director of Business Services, review IT and Facility contracts and conduct Request for Proposal (RFP) processes to drive competitive pricing and quality services with vendors
  • Develop policies and procedures for GCC’s IT and Facilities
  • In collaboration with key stakeholders, contribute to departmental productivity and objectives by developing training programs and protocols for all systems
  • Coach and mentor direct reports
  • Evaluate the performance of direct report(s) through GCC’s performance evaluation system
  • Encourage direct report’s professional development
  • Review and approve payroll-related transactions for a direct report(s) as needed, including timecard review and approval, time off request review and approval, etc.
  • Perform to the standards of GCC’s leadership values and competencies

Strategy Development

  • Assess and manage building risk and safety
  • Develop and implement GCC’s IT and Facility Strategies
  • Identify and recommend IT solutions to support driving GCC’s IT strategy
  • Communicate GCC’s IT Strategy and projects to stakeholders
  • Engage with stakeholders annually to determine IT needs. Propose solutions to meet the stakeholders' needs
  • Keep current on software and system updates through professional development, accredited training, and/or other certified technical training
  • Perform any additional duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Degree in a related IT discipline; or related training or certificates with relevant demonstrative work experience
  • Building management experience
  • Advanced computer skills: Microsoft Office Suite, especially Word, Outlook, SharePoint, and OneDrive
  • Experience working with database or web-based software
  • Extensive knowledge of using and supporting Microsoft Windows Server and Operating Systems
  • Experience working in a customer-focused IT support environment. Exceptional customer service skills
  • Experience diagnosing and resolving IT-related faults/issues
  • Must have an elevated level of interpersonal skills to be able to interact and communicate at all levels of the organization and skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations
  • Consistently demonstrate an ability to respond to changing situations in a flexible manner to meet current needs, such as reprioritizing work as necessary
