The expected base wage range for this position is: $90,000 to $125,000 annually. This position may be eligible for additional compensation according to the Company’s policies, as they may be amended from time to time.

The Director of Golf Revenue and Food & Beverage essential purpose to oversee three to five golf properties by providing supervision and support to the General Manager, Director of Golf, or Head Professional (hereinafter collectively referred to as “Golf Operations Manager”) in-person at each location, ensuring compliance with all policies and procedures.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES include, but may not be limited to:

  • To oversee the performance of the Golf Operations Managers responsible for recruiting, selecting and hiring qualified individuals; providing training, coaching and on-going professional development opportunities; conducting required evaluations of job performance; providing corrective action or commendation as required, in accordance with local labor laws and standards and to maintain the highest possible levels of employee morale and department productivity.
    • To motivate Golf Operations Managers to increase sales potential of each property by encouraging aggressive marketing of JC Player Membership, Club Membership, Tournament Sales, Food and Beverage services, Catering Sales, Tournament Operations, etc.
    • To establish and enforce Golf Operations goals and policies.
    • To oversee the JC Players Card program or course-specific membership program at the assigned golf courses to ensure it is being promoted to all golfers by the staff, and to meet established sales goals.
    • To oversee the pace of play policy at the assigned golf courses and ensure golf shop staff, Starters and Player’s Assistants are following the current policy.
    • To contribute and help lead discussions at monthly Strategy Meetings with the Golf Operations Managers.
    • To maintain familiarity with various issues, concerns, trends and upcoming events at each assigned property in the region by conducting regularly scheduled meetings with the property’s Golf Operations Managers.

    • To ensure that Golf Operations Managers maintain operational standards by conducting periodic audits of golf course operations within the competitive set by observing the following: personnel management; service, safety and sanitation standards; cash handling and security procedures; employee morale and guest satisfaction.
    • To implement all HR policies, procedures, and initiatives and assist in resolving major employee issues.
    • To assist Golf Operations Managers in controlling costs and managing resources by determining viable capital improvement projects or major equipment purchases; reviewing financial statements, reports (flash, profit & loss statements, utilization, inventory, etc.) and contracts; holding General Managers accountable for departmental budgets; creating annual budgets; achieving regional revenue and profit goals; developing long and short-term financial goals; actively seeking growth opportunities including business development and acquisition.
    • To provide resolution of escalated guest service issues by following up personally.
    • To act as a role model for all employees by demonstrating the behavior and work ethic expected of all employees.
    • To have professional and consistent communication with all golf-related departments, including weekly meetings with any departments impacted by golf operations procedures.
ADDITIONAL DIRECTOR OF GOLF REVENUE AND FOOD & BEVERAGE DUTIES:
  • To act in the capacity of Director of Food and Beverage for the golf courses by developing long and short-term plans for all areas of the Food and Beverage Departments at the golf courses.
  • To quarterly evaluate the food and beverage costs and pricing at all the golf courses and adjust the menus and pricing accordingly.
  • To work with the Golf Operations Manager and Food and Beverage Directors at all the courses to develop and maintain pricing core cards and menu item buildouts to ensure proper pricing and consistent food quality.
  • To work with all the golf course Catering Sales Directors to meet the desired objectives planning and executing company-wide catering sales promotional programs for the purpose of increasing catering sales leads; to motivate the Catering Sales Director at each golf course to achieve the catering goals.

JOB KNOWLEDGE & EDUCATIONAL LEVEL: High school diploma or equivalent required. English fluency required. Must be a PGA Class A member or CMAA member in good standing, and successfully complete a standard player’s ability test. Previous experience in a resort of comparable quality preferred. Familiar with OSHA, local Department of Health regulations, and relevant current laws governing handling of hazardous substances. Valid California driver’s license required. Proof of personal automobile insurance coverage required.

WORKING CONDITIONS: Works both in and out of doors. Spends approximately 20% of shift outside, depending upon weather conditions and level of business. Spends approximately 80% of shift indoors in temperature-controlled, clean, and well-lighted office and Golf Shop. Golf Shop has limited space to move around displays. Makes frequent short trips between golf course and facility. Steeply sloped access from golf greens to Golf Shop and other parts of facility. Extensive property. Conducts work on greens while games are in session, and could be vulnerable to players’ balls.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Stands/walks approximately 65-70% of shift. Sits/drives approximately 30-35% of shift. Occasionally required to handle and move objects weighing up to 25 lbs. over short distances. Bends, stoops, reaches, and lifts to perform routine job tasks. Must be able to work well under pressure. Must be able to withstand prolonged periods of exposure to sun. Must be flexible to work long, sometimes irregular hours. Flexibility and good reflexes required to operate electric cart. Frequent use of stairs, daily.
