Job Summary and Qualifications

  • You will be responsible for facility-wide activities of evaluating and managing infection control risks to patients and personnel through extensive surveillance and an effective reporting system
  • You will function as the hospital-wide clinical expert in the prevention and control of infection and will be responsible for the facility-wide planning and implementation of the facility-wide infection control program
  • You will be responsible for the coordination of the Hospital’s Infection Control Program, the objective of which is to minimize the probability of transmission of infection, thus providing a better and safer hospital for its patients and personnel

What qualifications you will need:
  • Bachelors Degree from an accredited RN School of Nursing required; Master’s Degree related to Healthcare preferred
  • Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Nevada
  • Minimum of two-year’s experience in Infection Prevention; Minimum of two-year’s acute care experience; Experience in education and statistical analysis desirable; Minimum of one-year experience in epidemiology, microbiology, and principles of asepsis
  • Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) from the American Heart Association is required
  • Completion of nationally recognized course in Fundamentals of Infection Control or having completed the CIC certification (if not CIC certified, must begin process for certification by attending initial APIC certification class within 90 days of hire and achieve CIC certification with 6 months after 2 years of hire- maximum of 2 attempts at passing CIC exam)

This role requires you to be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 based on local, state and /or federal law or regulations (unless a medical or religious exemption is approved).
