The purpose of this position is to oversee the long range planning process for the City and coordinate its development on private property. To be successful, candidates must possess a collaborative spirit and appreciate diversity in all aspects, with the ability to weave their tools within City operations.
The starting salary for this position is up to $170,000/year, depending on qualifications.

City leaders are looking for someone with a strong track record of successfully managing municipal planning. Candidates should be experienced in strategic planning, implementing a comprehensive plan, small area plans and neighborhood plans.
The ideal candidate is a visionary leader with a track record of innovation, resourcefulness, and influential leadership within their past organizations. They will work effectively with other departments and have an exceptional aptitude to anticipate problems, identify alternative courses of action, prepare proactive recommendations, and present, defend, and support those recommendations before the City Manager, City Council, advisory groups and citizens.
What You Bring to the Role
This position requires a bachelor’s degree in planning, architecture, engineering or public administration, with a master’s degree preferred. Candidates must also have at least seven years of related experience and be a member in good standing with the American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP).
