This position is Monday-Friday 1pm-8pm, Female Consumer, Some Lifting Required
The mission of Advantages of Southeast AR, Inc. is to provide a community based system of individualized instruction and support geared toward maximizing independence, self-support, employment opportunities, and normal living for persons with developmental disabilities in our 14 county service area.
The DSP employee works under the supervision of the Advantages waiver specialist assigned to the waiver consumer the employee works with. Any problems arising in the care of the waiver consumer must be directed to the supervisor. Emergency situations occurring after hours or at any time the business office is closed should also be directed to the immediate supervisor, or follow agency policy concerning notifying an alternate.
The DSP employee will be responsible for the health and safety of his/her client at all times to include the following responsibilities:
Responsible to directly monitor the health and safety of the consumer throughout the shift. Responsible for completing case notes and data collection for the each shift.
Responsible for assisting in meeting the overnight needs of the consumer such as health and safety issues which include medical checks and monitoring of health. Duties may include such responsibilities as repositioning of the consumer throughout the night or assisting with toileting needs.
Responsible for advising the Waiver Specialist of any important issues regarding the health and well-being of the consumer, such as change in health or habits, medications, behaviors, etc.
Responsible to implement any behavioral management program which may be designed for the consumer and/or the performance of any other necessary duties as assigned.
