Thrive Senior Living, LLC is looking to hire a Dining Hostess/Server. Engage with and encourage residents during meal service.
Skills Required:
  • Problem Solving: Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner, gathering and analyzing information skillfully to develop alternative solutions both alone and with groups while using reason even when dealing with emotional topics.
  • Customer Service: Manages difficult or emotional resident, family member, and employee situations, responding promptly to their request for service and assistance while soliciting feedback to improve service ensuring that commitments are met.
  • Interpersonal: Focuses on solving conflict and not blaming. Maintains confidentiality. Listens to others without interrupting and keeps emotions under control. Remains open to the ideas of others and tries new things.
  • Oral Communication: Speaks clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations. Listens carefully and gets clarification. Responds well to questions.
  • Team Work: Balances team and individual responsibilities, exhibiting objectivity, and openness to the views of others. Contributes to building a positive team spirit.
  • Planning and Time Utilization: Consistently plan/coordinates work to achieve maximum productivity and efficiency without sacrificing quality, accuracy, and customer service. Meets deadlines in completing job assignments and special projects.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • The Server is responsible for providing dining and table services to residents and guests in the community’s dining rooms and designated areas in accordance with Thrive Senior Living standards.
  • They are responsible for a proper meal and dining services and the cleaning of the dining rooms.

Functions of The Job:
The following job functions have been determined to be essential to the position. Management reserves the right to modify this list and other functions as deemed necessary.
  • Has knowledge of Daily and Anytime Menu items and can provide a general description to the residents and guests.
  • Assists residents with menu selections and responses to pertinent questions about menu items.
  • Responsible for taking meal and beverage orders and serving requested items according to established guidelines.
  • Responds to the dining needs of the residents and guests while maintaining Thrive hospitality and service standards.
  • Attends pre-meal briefing to gain knowledge of the meal and meal support activities.
  • Follows all local, state, and federal policies regarding food handling.
  • Maintains standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and health standards.
  • Maintains assigned tables and the surrounding area in a complete state of cleanliness, appearance, and readiness.
  • Performs dining room set-up and reset of tables in accordance with dining room procedures.
  • Supports the dining room decorum and etiquette standards.
  • Performs and completes opening and closing checklist criteria.
  • Performs and completes side work duties as assigned.
  • Maintains and protects the confidentiality of resident information at all times.
  • Safe food handling is practiced at all times to prevent an outbreak of foodborne illness.
  • Completes daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning assignments.
  • Maintains all work areas in a healthful and safe condition.
  • Assists in the dining room and surrounding areas for proper directional flow, organization, and supplies placement.
  • Partners with the community team to ensure the community is in compliance with OSHA requirements and promotion of Risk Management programs and policies; adherence to safety rules and regulations.
  • Practices safety procedures at all times including Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), fire extinguishers, MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheets), and Lockout Tagout procedures.
  • Actively participates as a member of a team and committed to working toward team goals.
  • Demonstrates in daily interactions with others, our Team Member Credo.

Physical Strength Required:
  • Frequent body movements include lifting, moving, transferring, bending (static forward bending), stooping/squatting, and reaching.
  • Able to do the heavy lifting, pushing, pulling, and/or carrying of objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds unassisted with twisting and turning of the trunk.
  • Ability to stand and walk for prolonged periods of time.
