The Desktop Support Specialist role at Kinsale is an exciting opportunity to apply, improve and expand your skills. We are looking for a highly skilled, proactive customer service-oriented desktop support specialist to assist our staff with computer hardware and software issues.

To ensure success as a Desktop Support Specialist, the applicant should be energetic, resourceful, and proficient in the installation, deployment, and support of Windows 10 and Microsoft Office applications. The candidate should also have good problem solving and interpersonal skills, as well as be able to demonstrate their technical knowledge and skill relating to desktop deployments, imaging, system updates, maintenance, and troubleshooting.

DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Provide level one and two helpdesk/desktop support via telephone, email, chat, and in-person
• Create and track trouble tickets, including following up with all parties to ensure prompt resolution
• Collaborate with internal and external resources to resolve technical problems with desktop hardware and software
• Assist in the installation and maintenance of desktop, laptop, mobile and peripheral devices
• Evaluate and test new product versions; provide recommendations for upgrade and replacement schedules
• Adhere to existing trouble resolution, change management, information security, asset management, and other relevant policies and procedures
• Provide remote support on nights and weekends on a rotational basis

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s degree in IT related field, relevant certifications, or equivalent experience
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Customer service focused, with a strong collaborative and team-oriented approach
• Experience with and a thorough knowledge of computer hardware, software, and the Windows 10 operating system
• Experience with Windows Server Update Services (WSUS), Active Directory, and associated diagnostic tools and utilities
• Basic knowledge of: MacOS, Linux operating system, information security concepts, wired and wireless network technologies and/or telephone systems
• Intermediate or higher experience with MacOS is a plus
• Familiarity with network protocols and services (i.e., ping, NSlookup, DNS, DHCP) and cloud technologies (AWS or Azure)
• Must have the ability to lift up to 30 lbs. and route cables and position equipment under office furniture
