Job Summary: The Dental Office Supervisor is responsible for ensuring the success of the Vernal Dental team by striving to exceed patient expectations, assisting with employee education, and ensuring that patient-flow occurs in a timely manner. The candidate may be expected to cover the reception or dental assisting positions when needed.
This position performs under the direction of the Quality Manager to ensure that industry best practices are implemented at each site and that all dental support staff provides quality care and performs their jobs to the best of their ability. The DOS administers the day-to-day activities of the dental business office, including: maintenance of patient records, scheduling of patients, dental employee schedules, dental daily log, maintaining appearance and order of the dental office and recall system. The Dental Office Supervisor assists the dental group in all aspects of dental care delivery as determined.
Job Qualifications
Education or Formal Training (Licenses/Certifications):
- High school diploma or GED required
- Bachelor's Degree Preferred;
Experience:
- Dental Assistant experience Required; recent experience (within the last 5 years) preferred.
- Two (2) years' dental office management experience preferred.
- Dentrix or other Dental electronic record experience a plus.
- Computer skills and software aptitude required.
- Communication and customer service skills required.
- Multi-line phone proficiency required.
- Insurance coding and dental terminology preferred.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality, patient records, manage multiple schedules, and ensure patient information is complete and up to date is required.
Language:
- Bilingual: Ideal, but not required
Additional Requirements/Licenses/Certifications:
- OIG/GSA compliant.
- Current personal immunization records, along with any required maintenance.
- Ensure confidentiality, integrity, and availability of all HIPAA (created, received, maintained, or transmitted).
- Must be able to use proper grammar (reading, writing and in speech).
- Must have reliable transportation.
- Travel: Minimal, as required.
