DCNR Ranger Trainee (Greenwood Furnace State Park Complex)
Job description

The park is hiring a full-time seasonal position to provide the public a safe enjoyable environment for recreation and relaxation.
Provides safety and law enforcement. Patrols State Park property and boundaries to ensure the safety of visitors and park grounds. Work involves foot patrol, motorized vehicle, motor boat and bicycling patrols.
Takes charge of emergency situations, accidents, organizing search and rescue parties, and administers CPR and First Aid when needed.
Presents a professional image to the general public through uniform appearance, verbal skills, courtesies, and knowledge of the park, the environment and history, rules, regulations and laws, telephone skills and a presence of self-confidence. Provides information and assistance to park visitors. Staffs park offices and visitor centers. Registers park visitors using the reservation/sales system.
Operates various equipment including automobiles, trucks, two-way radio, GPS units, AED, computer and office equipment.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
Seasonal full-time position with no benefits.- Work schedule varies. 40 hours per week at a 7 days/week operation.
- Works weekends, holidays, and all shifts as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS
You must have successfully examined and have a current score on file. If you have not already done so, you must first apply to the DCNR RANGER TRAINEE (EXAM) posting and follow the directions provided.- You must meet the PA residency requirement. - You must be able to perform essential job functions.
- You must pass a background investigation.
- This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law.
- Under the Law, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance.
