We are looking for a Data Engineer to join our team!
JOB OVERVIEW
The Data Engineer assists with the planning, development, and execution of the digital transformation strategy to optimize operational efficiency and quality, and to enhance productivity and collaboration.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Understand business and production process control requirements and help evaluate the performance of current technological capabilities in the internal infrastructure
- Help identify, design and implement internal process improvements, including redesigning infrastructure for greater scalability, optimizing data delivery, and automating manual processes
- Follow best practices for data management and for tracking, testing and deploying changes within a complex integrated system landscape
- Help support the data needs of multiple areas, teams, and products
- Help design and implement solutions to service delivery problems
- Adhere to enterprise data governance standards
Competencies and Experience
Required:
- Minimum 2 years data engineering experience or similar
- Strong analytical skills related to working with unstructured datasets
- Advanced working SQL knowledge and experience working with relational databases, query authoring (SQL) as well as working familiarity with a variety of databases
- Understanding of manufacturing systems and underlying integration structure
- Experience supporting and working with cross-functional teams in a dynamic environment
- Experience with object-oriented/object function scripting languages, e.g Python, Java, C++
- Experience with relational SQL and NoSQL databases
- Experience from working in an industrial setting
Required:
- B.S. degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related technical discipline
