Meritage Homes is looking for a Temporary Customer Care Associate (West side - Glendale, Peoria, Buckeye area) to act as the point of contact for buyers and homeowners inquiring about their home needs via our customer care corporate hotline. This person will be responsible for the timely and accurate flow of information to division warranty and/or customer care team members; inputs information into the warranty database, updates records as applicable, and acts as the liaison for customer complaints.
The Temporary Customer Care Associate will:
- Handle incoming corporate customer calls (not call center) including buyers under contract and warranty. Record details of customer contacts and forward to applicable parties.
- See calls/complaints through to resolution, record actions taken, maintain record of calls
- Frequently communicate with customers, local division customer care/warranty team, sales and construction management as well as director of national customer relations.
- Manage and when applicable create emergency warranty claims; follow up with divisions on status and completion.
- Provide warranty claim status updates as applicable to both homeowners & trade partners.
- Update homeowner records as applicable, including documenting completion of key warranty milestones.
- Conduct warranty customer satisfaction calls & surveys.
- Handle “special projects” to assist divisions with warranty administrative needs.
- Provide information regarding warranties and products to our customers. Learn the manufacturer’s recommendations for product features, use, and warranty provisions for products which generate the most frequent customer calls.
- Manage milestone customer care materials and send to homeowners.
- Produce monthly reports detailing call volumes, milestones, etc.
- May perform occasional duties of an administrative assistant
- May accompany supervisor on occasional walk-throughs, or new homeowner orientations to learn products and gain general construction knowledge.
- Minimum High School Diploma or equivalent, two or more years of college is preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of Customer Service experience or experience in an office support position.
- General residential construction knowledge, is preferred but not necessary.
- Intermediate computer skills; experience with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Experience with People Soft/JD Edwards, or similar data base system, is preferred.
- Strong written/verbal communication skills, proofreading skills, and clear and professional phone voice.
- Excellent problem resolution skills, ability to handle and diffuse customer concerns in a positive manner.
- Personal maturity and a professional demeanor; position requires the ability to respond favorably and communicate effectively.
