JOB TITLE: Career Center Criminal Justice Instructor
REPORTS TO: Director of North Lawrence Career Center
SUMMARY DESCRIPTION:
- Teach Criminal Justice at North Lawrence Career Center, half days
- Topics include
- Purposes, functions, and history of law enforcement, courts, and corrections
- Major theoretical perspectives in criminology, criminal behavior, corrections, and cultural awareness
- Historical and cultural perspectives of the American correctional system
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop, plan, and implement curriculum and education programs in accordance with building, corporation, and state guidelines
- Establish, plan, and host program advisory board meetings as directed by CTE director
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum of high school diploma and 5,000 hours of work experience in the field with willingness and ability to pursue an Indiana Workplace Specialist educator license- Occupational licensure, completion of apprenticeship or internship program, accredited 2-year degree or higher in specific certification area is preferred
- Knowledge of content areas including industry prevalent equipment, software, materials, procedures, etc.
