JOB LOCATION: HOPE HOTEL & CONFERENCE CENTER
Job Summary
The Cook must prepare food of consistently excellent quality. The cook will assist in all kitchen
functions, maintaining a clean environment, communicating well with all associates.
Duties and Responsibilities
Including, but not limited to:
1. Follows recipe cards and portion standards.
2. Prepares food ahead of time, making sure not to over-prepare estimated needs.
3. Dates all food containers and rotates them, making sure that all perishablesare kept at
proper temperatures.
4. Assists in setting up plans and takes action to correct any food cost problems;
controls food waste, loss and usage.
5. Operates, maintains and properly cleans deep fryer, broiler, stove, steamer, food
processor, mixer, slicer, oven steam table, tilt kettle, waffle iron and flat topgrill.
6. Complies with attendance rules and is available to work on a regular basis.
7. Completes duties and confirms on shift checklist as assigned.
8. Has the ability to stand for long periods and lift at least 25 lbs. (See full physical
requirements below.)
9. Various other duties as assigned by Supervisor.
Requirements
- Cooking experience required.
- Must be able to communicate effectively with all food and beverage staff.

- Ability to withstand frequent extreme changes in temperature
- Frequent standing, walking, and squatting
- Frequent bending forward and trunk rotation while standing
- Frequent reaching both above and below shoulders
- Frequent pushing, pulling, and balancing
- Vision – close, peripheral, depth, distance, focus adjustment required frequently
- Hands/fingers – frequent use of fine motor skills
- Frequent lifting and carrying up to 25 lbs.
- Frequent pushing and pulling up to 50 lbs.
