Housing & Dining Services
Housing & Dining Services (HDS) is a multifaceted auxiliary organization responsible for management of on-campus housing facilities, residential dining, conferences, and the CSU Mountain Campus. Other areas within HDS include Ram Card, communications, sustainability, facilities, human resources, technology services, workplace education, and business services. Approximately 450 full-time staff and 1,700 hourly and student staff serve the nearly 8,000 students who live on campus, in addition to other campus and community guests. Our priority is providing our residents and guests with safe living environments, quality dining, and exceptional out-of-classroom experiences. We accomplish this through sound fiscal and operational management strategies, and an emphasis on the development of programs and services that are designed to enhance personal growth and global engagement. Housing & Dining Services Facilities
Housing & Dining Facilities is a work unit within Housing & Dining Services that provides care and stewardship for the 2.5+ million square feet of CSU’s living centers and dining facilities. We are a customer-first service organization, delivering a variety of services including skilled labor, environmental services, warehousing, movable assets, renovation and construction oversight, and all associated facilities management functions. As part of HDS, the Mountain Campus (MC) serves the University and surrounding communities as a site for student learning, research and conferences. We strive to deliver outstanding residential and dining experiences crafted by an engaged team dedicated to social and environmental responsibility. The MC is located approximately 50 miles from Fort Collins at 9,000 ft. elevation, in a remote mountain valley adjacent to Rocky Mountain National Park. The season of operation is May to November. We employ 30-35 seasonal staff and serve 65,000+ meals each season to the nearly 6,500 students, faculty, staff and visitors to the campus. There is Wi-Fi, but no cell phone service, and pets are not allowed.

<b>Mountain Campus</b>

Position Summary
This position is a remote live on-site position and will be assigned a shared living arrangement at the CSU Mountain Campus in Bellvue, CO.

This is an HVAC Technician position with advanced Controls systems knowledge. This position will provide technical expertise in the areas of HVAC, controls, boilers, and commercial kitchen equipment. This position will troubleshoot HVAC & Plumbing Mechanical systems and have the ability to utilize controls systems to aid in this effort. This position is a fully functioning journey level HVAC and Controls.
This position will also be responsible for the troubleshooting, installation, monitoring, repair, and service for the following systems: HVAC, Plumbing, waste water treatment, and controls systems and all related hardware, software, and alarms, boilers, and HVAC equipment, and associated mechanical components.
Troubleshoots, monitors, repairs, and services a variety of HVAC/R equipment including programing, calibrating, testing, monitoring and adjusting system parameters for efficient operation.
This position will also be required to perform general maintenance tasks, including but not limited to; plumbing, painting, electrical, structural repairs to walls, ceilings, floors, doors and door hardware, grounds, snow removal, and kitchen equipment.
This position is required to access a variety of spaces not limited to: basements, tunnels, crawl spaces, attics, chases, and roofs using stairs, ladders, lifts, scaffolds and other means to service or inspect equipment.

Minimum Qualifications
Three years (36-months) of experience as an HVAC and Controls Technician.

Substitutions
Appropriate HVAC education will substitute for the required experience on a year-for-year basis.

Preferred Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess the following competencies (e.g. knowledge, skills, abilities, and other personal characteristics) which have been outlined as essential to performing successfully in this position:
  • Advanced Controls and HVAC experience within a University, school district, commercial campus, or other similar environments.
  • Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience maintaining, repairing, and trouble-shooting High Efficiency Boilers.
  • Experience maintaining, repairing, and trouble-shooting commercial kitchen equipment
  • Experience maintaining, repairing, and trouble-shooting HVAC systems.
  • Experience maintaining, programming, repairing, and trouble-shooting a variety of HVAC and control systems including the end devices it controls.
  • Ability to utilize computers and other electronic mobile devices to manage work orders and communicate with teams, i.e. email and computers.
  • Ability to develop positive working relationships with customers, peers, supervisors, management, contractors, and partners.

Essential Job Duties

Duty/Responsibility
  • Service and maintain HVAC and refrigeration equipment including large/small HVAC supply and return air handling units, unit heaters, fan coil units, fluid handling pumps, air compressors, control air dehydration and filtering systems, forces air heating/cooling units, boilers, piping systems, other mechanical devices and related electronic interfaces.
  • Develop, implement, perform, and plan preventive maintenance programs.
  • Prioritize future work necessary and prepare schedules for preventive maintenance using a variety of computer programs including, but not limited to maintenance work order inventory and ordering software, Excel, Work, etc.
  • Coordinate and assist the work of University approved subcontractors to provide oversite and mechanical related services when outsource contracting is necessary due to expertise, schedule conflicts or internal labor shortages.
  • Prepare basic one-line plans and specifications, assist with coordination of documented quotes, follows project through to completion.
  • Input data when new equipment is installed and delete information of obsolete equipment.
