The department of “Truck Technology / Software” (TT/S) focuses on software and electronics design & development, leveraging global solutions to meet regional needs for software-driven vehicle features. Our vehicles grow in capability, especially in the areas of Connectivity, Electric, Autonomous, Fuel Efficiency and Safety.

The Vehicle Connectivity (on-board) and Connectivity team works closely with business partners, IT and the global engineering organization to provide customer oriented world class Connectivity software & hardware solutions for Daimler Truck vehicles, worldwide. By utilizing globally distributed teams and resources, we develop market-leading vehicle connectivity digital solutions.

The successful candidate will design and develop on-board connectivity software and hardware solution by bringing together customer requirements, vehicle engineering expertise and by collaborating with various engineering teams, suppliers and partners. You will be responsible to support vehicle signal / data streaming and support connectivity product development across various vehicle platforms and segments.

Position offers a starting salary range of $124,000 - $158,000
Pay offered dependent on knowledge, skills, and experience

What You Drive at DTNA
  • Work with local and global Vehicle connectivity and Mechatronics functions to implement customer focused on-board Connectivity solutions.
  • Develop on-board connectivity solution to stream vehicle signals to the Daimler backend, establish performance KPI’s and continuous monitoring
  • Develop solutions by collaborating with various engineering teams, product development teams.
  • Be a system expert and represent connectivity on a various engineering and manufacturing forums.
  • Coach and guide team to build system & SW competencies.
Knowledge You Should Bring
  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineer, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or related field with 4-7 years of exerperience
  • Experience with automotive CAN, J1939 and Ethernet networks
  • Experience with Vehicle architectures
  • Experience in creating reports (Power BI, Tableau, etc.), cloud-based databases (Azure, KQL, DAX, Python, etc.)
  • Experience with identifying and solving the root cause of complex problems, defining processes and workflows
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with globally distributed teams & stakeholders
  • Demonstrated strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to motivate self and others via collaboration and good team work skills
  • Experience with ECU flash programming
  • Experience with software development such as C, C++ or Java
  • Experience with collaboration tools Jira and Confluence
Exceptional Candidates Might Have
  • Experience with Linux OS, AUTOSAR based ECU development
  • Experience with product / feature development and development processes
