Job Description:

• Plan and develop integrated outreach strategies and implement exhibits and presentations on the prevention of mosquito breeding and mosquito-borne diseases for special events, homeowner associations, schools, and organizations.
• Develop educational materials for residents and visitors on mosquitoes and services provided by the business unit; these include fact sheet hand-outs, videos, tutorials, and reminders of various types.
• Use digital photography and make video recordings of unit activities for staff training and outreach events.
• Maintain and update information on the web page and social media with newsworthy information about mosquitoes and mosquito-transmitted diseases.
• Make updates to the webpage, social media, and county notification of insecticide applications.
• Answer questions from citizens on social media.
• Provide media interviews on business unit operations and activities as needed.

About You

Minimum Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent Education.
• Three (3) years of applicable experience.
• One year of college may substitute for one year of experience.
• Valid Florida Driver's License at the time of hire.
• Must be able to obtain a FDACS Public Health Pest Control License within six (6) months.

About Everything Else

Starting Pay Range: $18.69 - $20.56

Position Salary Range: $18.69 - $28.97
