Job description
The Eugene Water & Electric Board is currently seeking a Communication and Controls Supervisor. This position is responsible for managing, directing, planning and organizing the operations, maintenance and upgrades of our communication and control systems including microwave, radio and fiber networks and associated controls. The successful candidate will supervise a team of approximately seven that supports critical systems across the utility and serve as a member of the Support Services Operations Management Team. The ideal Communications and Controls Supervisor will have knowledge of and direct experience in:
- Leading a team of experts.
- Managing resources and budgets.
- Communication system projects and associated support and resource requirements.
- Coordinating across departments and agencies.
- Regional, state, and federal regulatory requirements relevant to utilities.
- Creating and managing contracts and inter-governmental agreements.
- Reading and interpreting engineering plans.
- Experience in one or more of the following: Microwave Systems, 2-Way Radio, System Controls and Integration, Fiber Networks, Telemetry Systems.
The successful candidate will have strong leadership and administrative abilities, an understanding of utility industry operations and a commitment to providing excellent service to our partners and customers.
Minimum Training and Experience Required:
Minimum Experience: Eight years of progressively responsible work experience in a directly related functional field which includes four years of direct supervision in a multi-functional work environment OR an equivalent combination of professional, senior, lead, or project management experience may satisfy the supervisor requirement.
Education: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in a directly related technical field or an equivalent combination of education plus additional job related experience may be qualifying.
Equivalency: An equivalent combination of experience and training that demonstrates the required knowledge, skills, and abilities may be qualifying.

The starting salary for this position is $111,064.04 - $148,085.39 commensurate with knowledge, skills, education, and experience as it relates to the position.

Telecommuting:
This position is based in Eugene, Oregon; however, it has been approved as a hybrid work arrangement involving a combination of telecommuting and working on-site; the selected candidate must live in the state of Oregon.
