Commercial Banking Junior Relationship Manager

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING
Supports the Senior Relationship Managers and maintains and grows his/her portfolio of commercial clients. S/he identifies new prospects for the Relationship Managers and supports in closing new business relationships and expands relationships with existing customers. Identifies appropriate products and services to those prospects and clients and successfully capitalize on cross-sell opportunities and making appropriate referrals. Provides financial advice to customers. Approves loans within assigned limits, managing loan and portfolio credit quality.
Responsibilities:
- Acts as coverage banker for Sr. RM, assists Sr. RM in the growth of clients
- Assists in the management of loan & portfolio credit quality
- Grows revenue as directed by senior management by successfully prospecting new business and making appropriate referrals
- Maintains portfolio by calling on existing customers to expand existing business, ensure excellent client relations & proper servicing of account(s)
- Prepare return models, Deal Screen memos and supporting documentation for presentation to the loan committee
- Responsible for generation of pitch books for Sr. RM
- Responsible for handling some clients on their own
- Serves a conduit for all product lines and matches client needs with appropriate products

Education:
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience
Work Experience:
3-9 years
Experience in a lending, credit, Treasury Management, sales training or financial services position.
Skills and Abilities:
Ability to prospect and network at various levels within a company.
Demonstrates ability to manage time effectively to balance new & existing relationships to meet goals.
Demonstrates excellent communication skills (verbal & written).
Demonstrates knowledge of bank products, services, and bank operations.
Demonstrates proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
Expertise in Commercial Loan structure and documentation.
Strong attention to detail in order to maintain high level of data integrity.
Strong comfort and familiarity with use and application of commercial lending principles.
Strong customer service and telephone skills.
Strong knowledge of Commercial Line of Business.
Strong organizational skills and ability to handle multiple tasks.

Working Conditions:
Frequent Minimal physical effort such as sitting, standing and walking. Occasional moving and lifting equipment and furniture is required to support onsite and offsite meeting setup and teardown. Physically capable of lifting up to fifty pounds, able to bend, kneel, climb ladders.

For NYC Job Applicants: The base annual salary range for this position is $76,000-$161,000. The exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, training, licensure and certifications and location.
