Coder range: $21-$25.25 DOE with ability to go higher for highly experienced candidates.
- Responsible for coding all medical, eye care and dental encounters by auditing the Audits the electronic medical record for accurate code selection of International Classification of Disease, Current Procedural Terminology and Health Care Common Procedure Coding System codes daily.
- Designates insurance information for each encounter through selection of allocations sets and financial classes.
- Utilizes patient chart and billing screen to ensure missing encounters in the status of “in progress” are completed for timely billing of services according to insurance requirements.
- Assists all callers with questions about pricing of services rendered, utilizing CBHA’s communication model; ensuring return calls are done within three business days.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Promotes a positive work culture and upholds clinic policies and procedures, including the WE CARE standards of Behavior.
- Must uphold confidentiality at all times in regards to CBHA activities, reports, financials, patient health information and other proprietary information specific to CBHA.
Professional and Technical Knowledge:
- Possesses a basic level of written and verbal communication, computer and mathematical skill and knowledge typically acquired through completion of a high school program.
- Possesses a Certified Professional Coder (CPC), CCS-P Certificate, or ability to obtain within three years of on-the-job training.
Technical Skills:
- Ability to prepare basic correspondence and simple reports in Microsoft Word.
- Ability to use Microsoft Excel to create tables and simple displays of information.
Communication Skills:
- Ability to provide effective communication of information during informal and formal verbal presentations.
- Ability to provide effective communication of information in written (including electronic) correspondence.

403 (b) Retirement Plan:
Safe Harbor Match: Employees are eligible to receive a Safe Harbor Match of 100% up to 4% of the employee’s total salary. Employee is full vested in Safe Harbor Match from day 1. Contributions are subject to IRS guidelines.
Non-Elective Contribution- Provided the employee has met enrollment qualifications, employee will also receive 4% employer contribution of employee’s total salary at the end of the Plan Year at the discretion of Board of Directors.
