Evans & Dixon is currently seeking a Civil Associate Attorney, who is licensed in Illinois, to join our downtown Saint Louis office. The Civil Associate Attorney should have at least 3+ years of experience and possible portable billings, the willingness to market and develop his/her own practice area, be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and can autonomously handle a large volume of files along with meeting strict deadlines and should be someone who is looking to join a widely recognized firm to build a corporate practice and support existing and new firm clients.

Responsibilities:

  • 3+ years of experience and possible portable billings
  • Must be able to autonomously handle a large volume of files and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Be able to manage cases from inception through discovery and trial preparation
  • Advise and represent clients in courts, before government agencies, and in private legal matters
  • Taking depositions of the claimant, witnesses, physicians, medical experts, and other parties
  • Drafting pleadings, motions, briefs, opinions, appeals, contracts, and other legal documents
  • Gathering evidence and obtaining medical records for client strategy
  • Remaining current with developments in the law
  • Litigating cases before the workers compensation division
  • Negotiating legal contract terms on behalf of clients and presenting arguments and counter arguments in court
  • Interpret laws, rulings, and regulations for individuals and businesses.
  • Proven work experience as an Associate Attorney in a reputed law firm

Education and Qualifications:

  • A law degree from an ABA accredited law school
  • License in Illinois required, Missouri a plus
