Job description

Perform and direct care for patients of all ages in the clinic to include, but not limited to, assessing vital functions, assisting physicians and advanced practitioners by performing venipuncture and basic lab tests, administering medications, maintaining controlled medications in secure areas, maintains sample drugs. Performs administrative duties as required to include coding and billing, transcription and front office functions.

Education and Experience:

1. High School Graduation or Equivalent

2. Certified Medical Assistant preferred

3. BLS certification

4. Medical office experience preferred

Skills: Basic typing, computer literacy in Windows based programs and CPSI preferred. Effective telephone customer service. Ability to operate business machines to include fax and copier/scanner.

Individuals employed in this position may be exposed to one or more of the following: Disagreeable odors, chemicals, disinfectants, cleaners, soaps, etc.: latex, plastic and other materials used for person protective equipment; noise and distractions; unpredictable behaviors; and/or wet floors.
