SEASONAL/PART-TIME POSITION: LOOKING TO HIRE IMMEDIATELY, SHIPPING SEASON GOES THROUGH TO MID-JUNE
DRIVERS REQUIRED TO UNLAOD MUST BE COMFORTABLE LIFTING UP TO 40-50 LBS
PREFERENCE GIVEN TO DRIVERS COMFORTABLE WITH STANDARD AND AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSIONS
TYPICAL WORK WEEK : 2-3 DAYS
TYPICAL START TIME 5AM
MUST BE COMFORTABLE DRIVING 26 FOOT BOX TRUCK

Serving a critical role in the company, the CDL Driver upholds a commitment to safety protocols and quality customer service standards.
Recognizing the frequency of face-to-face customer interactions through the delivery process, the successful candidate(s) will champion their role as a representative of the company on and offsite. The employee will take pride in their professional service while wearing company provided apparel during deliveries and will remain friendly, helpful, respectful and aware of situational details.
Specific tasks include but are not limited to:
- Daily Truck Inspections including fuel level review
- Evaluate delivery route prior to departure
- Help load plants when necessary
- Assist with offload designated orders at tailgate via customer’s location
- Count all plant material (check tags for plant identification)
- Complete and submit delivery documents
- Keep uniform clean and tidy and wearing appropriate footwear
- General support and assistance for farm-based tasks as assigned by the Production Manager
- Maintain complete and accurate maintenance records
Reporting Line:
- The Driver & Farm Support Specialists have a dual reporting line to both the Shipping Manager (for shipping and offsite work)
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Maintains an understanding of New England safe driving laws
- Skillful in navigating large box trucks (including safe turning radius and backing up)
- Preference will be given to those who have completed 1 or more driver safety course/s
- Ability to lift 40 lbs (related to unloading plant material from the truck)
- Ability to step/climb into the truck bed for loading and unloading
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED
- Safe driver with good driving record
- Flexible availability with early morning starts
- Commitment to avoid substance use while working on and off farm including while driving in order to ensure no-impairment while driving
- Commitment to restrain from texting while driving
Licenses:
- Current CDL Driver’s license
- Preference will be given for additional certifications
