Job description
Status: Full-time, 9 am - 5 pm (hours may vary)
FLSA Classification: Non-Exempt
Job Location: Brooklyn, NY
Objective:
Qualified candidates must have experience working with formerly homeless, mentally ill, single adults, families, and young adults who are aging out of foster care. In addition, we work closely with individuals who may suffer from chronic illnesses, such as HIV/AIDs and/or substance abuse. In addition, the Case Manager Supervisor will participate in an extensive training program that includes evidence-based models to ensure the clients we're assisting receive the highest level of care possible.
- During the absence of the Program Director, this position may need to be available during breaks and during evenings, weekends, and holidays to advise and support staff.
Essential Functions:

- Oversee a team of case managers servicing a mixed population in our supportive housing building.
- Offer support, training, and quality control for intake processes, initial assessments, and the reassessment of clients, as well as closing cases as necessary and as per guidelines.
- Responsible for Supervisory Review of case records for clients assigned in our database system.
- Facilitate team meetings and supervise individual case managers as well as group supervision and training sessions.
- Assists the Program Director with hiring and training new staff.
- When the program director is unavailable, handle all aspects of program management.
- Assist the Leasing and Compliance team in housing stability; Plan and budget the client's financial needs and ensure they can meet their rental obligations.
- Establish and implement groups and programs that are appropriate to residents' needs and foster a community that is inclusive and respectful
- Make referrals and act as a liaison with various health and mental health providers, employment providers, and substance use programs to secure services.
Required Education and Experience:
- Master's Degree is required, MSW preferred; LMSW, LCSW, or LMHC preferred.
- Supervisory experience is required
- Experience in the field of social services, housing, or shelter for at least three years.
- Knowledge of using databases to document and track client and staff work
- Strong organizational, communication, and writing skills.
Work Environment: This job operates in a supportive housing site and works with a population who may experience mental illness, substance use, disability, HIV/AIDS, and other chronic illnesses.
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, stoop, climb stairs, and/ or kneel. Occasionally the employee will have to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
