Our people division is growing, and we are looking for a QA/QC Analyst for Nevada Gold Mines. The successful candidate will have direct experience with analyzing large datasets for quality control and quality assurance.

Responsibilities:

• Implement and maintain adherence to the NGM Quality Assurance/Quality Control Standards
• Complete QA/QC analysis on drill hole, open pit and underground production, and other sample databases to provide assurance that the accuracy and precision of that dataset can be confirmed
• Review sampling procedures from drilling to production to understand or reduce sampling bias
• Review and audit internal and external laboratories to ensure a well-rounded understanding of our business and value drivers
• Monitor QA/QC samples, including certified reference material, blank and duplicate performance
• Provide guidance and training to geologists on acceptable QA/QC procedures across the region
• Assist with audits and technical reports as needed
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in Geology, Geochemistry, Chemistry, Data Science, or related field or equivalent experience required
• Preferred three (3) years of relevant in mining, exploration, or laboratory operations, but willing to train the right person preferred
• Understanding of fundamentals of QA/QC on any type of data required
• Excellent safety record with the ability to demonstrate safety leadership required
• A desire to engage with teams in a collaborative manner and critical thinking, problem-solving skills required
• Technical communication and presentation skills required

About Nevada Gold Mines

Nevada Gold Mines is a joint venture between Barrick Gold Corporation (61.5%) and Newmont Goldcorp Corporation (38.5%), combining their significant assets across Nevada to create the single largest gold-producing complex in the world and realize the full potential of these mines through synergies and best-in-class operational improvements.

The massive mining operation comprises 8 mines along with their associated infrastructure and processing facilities that produced an estimated 4 million ounces of gold in 2018. Three of these assets are Tier One gold mines: Barrick’s Cortez; the combination of Barrick’s Goldstrike and Newmont Goldcorp’s Carlin; and the combination of Barrick’s Turquoise Ridge and Newmont Goldcorp’s Twin Creeks.
