A Youth Career Coach provides support, guidance and access to resources to young people ages 14-24. This position will manage a case load of participants enrolled in the various youth program provided by YOU. The Youth Career Coach is perfect for an individual who is an expert multi-tasker and has the ability to form relationships and build trust with young people to help them find a path that is connected to both their passion and purpose. The ideal candidate has experience in a school or youth centered organization, maintains high standards and believes in providing equitable and meaningful opportunities for all.

KRESA is seeking a full-time Career Coach based at our YOU location, but supports all four counties Michigan Works! Southwest Service Centers (Branch, St. Joseph, Kalamazoo and Calhoun). You will work collaboratively with KRESA staff and other partners that provide services to the community.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
-Assist young people ages 14-24 with education and employment goals. Responsible for processing and completing registrations of eligible participants and supporting them throughout their journey with YOU.
-Complete assessment of academic and skill levels, career interests and aptitude and develop individual education and employment plans based on information gathered from participants' assessments and individual goals.
-Maintain detailed caseload files and track data. Responsible for meeting contractual goals, updating and maintaining required reports. Comply with all federal, state and local policies, procedures and regulations.
-Presents education and employment related information through workshops, both in person and virtually.
-Works collaboratively with other YOU and KRESA staff, as well as other key community and education stakeholders.
-Refers participants to partner programs and other community resources.
-Works as part of a team to develop and prioritize tasks in order to meet the needs of the populations served.
-Attends community meetings and serves as a public representative of the organization.
-Participates in professional development activities (workshops, meetings, seminars) to keep abreast of current program policies, youth employment laws and/or workforce information.
-Regular and consistent attendance.
-Other duties as assigned
-Some travel may occur to assist team members in other counties.

Minimum Skills and Education:
Bachelor's degree or minimum of three years of related professional experience in Workforce Development programs. Valid driver's license. Embraces and supports KRESA philosophies related to diversity, inclusiveness and anti-racism. Ability to interact effectively with individuals from a side range of cultures. Ability to discuss cultural differences with colleagues and clients. Ability to assess one's own strengths and limitations or challenges and integrate this understanding into interpersonal interactions.

-Displays a willingness to support and make decisions with sound judgement in timely manner
-Adapts to frequent changes in the work environment
