• Freedom Boat Club is growing, we now have 11 Texas locations and 370 worldwide. We have a position in Rockport (Cove Harbor Marina). We are a fun place to work. Freedom Boat Club is the nation's oldest and largest private member boat club, and we are currently looking to fill a flexible / on-call part-time position. Holiday availability is a must. A competitive hourly rate PLUS tips. Complimentary club membership is available upon successful completion of the 90-day probationary period!

Join Freedom Boat Club as a dock staff crew member and enjoy working on the water! We are looking for dynamic individuals to handle boat reservations, assist our members on and off the boats, and keep the fleet of boats clean and ready for use.

Duties include but are not limited to:

• Greet members in a friendly, upbeat, courteous, and professional manner
• Assist members in boarding/loading boats with an emphasis on safety
• Check-out members using a handheld computer tablet
• Perform check of safety equipment on board
• Check-in members returning with boats
• Familiarize yourself with local waters to provide basic chart guidance to members
• Inspect and buff boats and stage equipment for their next outings (Cove Harbor Marina staff power wash and flush engines on every use)
• Daily light clerical work to prepare reservation log, fuel log, and weather reports

Qualifications

• Valid driver's license
• Must be at least 18 years old
• Boating experience in and around boats (basic knowledge of how to operate a boat) is helpful.
• Ability to perform or learn minor boat maintenance (bilge pumps, fuses, fluids, etc.)
• Physical ability to lift/carry up to 30 lbs.
• Physical ability to board and load boats
• Physical ability to clean boats
• Occasional kneeling/stooping to clean the interior of boat compartments
• Have a mobile device to use company communication apps outside of work (Text and web browser).
• Vision adequate to read/manipulate handheld computer tablets
• Ability to maintain a calm, positive attitude during periods of high activity
• Highly effective communication skills and friendly customer service are absolutely required
• Must be a self-starter and capable of working unsupervised
• High attention to detail
• Always operate with an emphasis on guest hospitality
• Adhere to all safety policies
• Maintain a cooperative, team attitude in working with supervisors and fellow employees
• Maintain a positive attitude toward the dock and the job being performed
