PRIMARY PURPOSE:
Under limited direction, this position is responsible for managing the daily operational activities of the collections departments for fixed site and/or mobile teams. This position oversees staff development, employee engagement and mentorship. Implements assigned policies, projects and goals towards the successful achievement of collection goals and budget. This position is responsible for management of other professional and administrative staff.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Performs all assigned duties in compliance with internal SOPs and external regulations. Brings compliance issues to the attention of management.
Assures quality customer service to all customers.
Hires, trains, manages and evaluates the collections staff and supervisors to ensure employees continually perform at a level expected to meet departmental goals and objectives.
Implements approved policies and programs with frequent progress reporting, as directed.
Organizes the activities, scheduling, and workflow of assigned staff and management in a manner that maximizes effective use of personnel, equipment, and facilities.
Acts upon approved recruitment policies, programs and strategies connected with fixed site and mobile collection events.
Required to work closely with Donor Recruitment, Laboratory and Hospital Service Leadership in preventing and/or addressing collection/recruitment related problems.
Assures marketing strategies are implemented.
May perform in the collection and screening of donors.
Works toward achieving productivity goals established by management. Provides, tracks and acts on statistics to track productivity and activity.
Assists in the planning areas pertinent to collections (e.g., draw, staffing and equipment/facilities capital expenditures).
May assist in the planning, organization, preparation, and administration of the departmental budget.
Assures equipment maintenance and facilities are at a standard consistent with their use. Recommends, with proper justification, the repair or purchase of equipment.
Maintains and ensures compliance on all SOP requirements related to collections.
Facilitates department staff meetings to ensure the exchange of information.
Assists in establishing and maintaining customer service concepts and philosophies; implements these as fundamentals to all staff.
Follows up with all donor and blood drive coordinator’s feedback and concerns as well as communication with local health departments etc.
Responsible for the reporting and resolution of deviations within the assigned department.
Maintains department personnel records, which includes new hires, terminations, incident reports, staff qualifications and performance reviews.
Maintains awareness and follows all safety procedures, as outlined by the company.
Performs all other duties, at the discretion of management, as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:
Knowledge/Education
Bachelor's degree in a directly related field.
Three years previous healthcare-relevant experience required.
Two years personnel supervisory experience required (healthcare-related preferred).
OR
High school graduate\GED required.
Seven years directly related personnel supervisory experience required (healthcare-related preferred).
All incumbents must be able to successfully complete all required task qualifications and supervisory training programs required.
Must possess knowledge of general business and management practices required.
Licenses/Certifications
None.
Experience
Five years of critical care experience, experience in therapeutic hemapheresis or dialysis required.
Three years supervisory experienced required.
