Mood Fabrics is seeking a skilled Blog Writer & Sewer to support our creative teams by executing our original, fashion-forward patterns and translating the construction process into engaging blog posts for our broad audience on social media. The Blog Writer & Sewer will work closely with the Mood Sewciety Blog Team to understand our established garment construction best practices and ensure each garment sewn meets or exceeds these expectations.

With the public in mind, the Blog Writer & Sewer will make a special effort to describe the overall construction process clearly from start to finish so that even beginners can effectively follow along and complete the project. Ultimately the Blog Writer & Sewist will also be responsible for responding to public inquiries made in the comment section of the blog regarding garment construction, materials, techniques and general questions.

The right candidate must be confident enough in their sewing skills and experience to put together an unmarked pattern without instructions, a key part of fine tuning our custom pattern process. The ideal candidate also has a demonstrated background in home sewing for personal projects or costuming, as well as exceptional communication skills and attention to detail.

This position is performed on-site in Lodi, NJ, 5 days per week.

Requirements:

• Proven experience sewing quality garments and/or projects
• Skilled in writing technical garment construction steps
• Comfortable using a wide range of sewing equipment and techniques
• Must be able to sew and perform duties on-site in our sewing studio
• Experience with general blog writing and formatting
• WordPress experience a big plus
• Comfortable with public speaking and/or in front of the camera a plus
• Strong attention to detail and quality
• Excellent communication skills
• Thrives in a fast-paced environment

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $24.00 per hour
