Leadership and oversite of the clinical and operational needs for the behavioral health clinic and integrated behavioral health departments within the behavioral health care system.
Position Summary:
The Behavioral Health Manager works in partnership with leadership to ensure planning, directing, organization, monitoring, and staffing the behavioral health care settings subject to policies, budgets, objectives, and directives mandated by regulatory agencies, DNV, and the hospital administration. This leader ensures effective clinical care with focus on the patients, providers, and employees of assigned departments. Leads, manages, supervises, evaluates, and develops the clinical team. Refers to and develops policies, procedures, guidelines, and department specific instructions that are based on evidence and/or best practice standards and comply with regulatory requirements. Responsible for the day to day implementation and communication of organizational operating initiatives for the service area. Responsible for annual budgeting and monthly oversight of departmental budgets. Ensures the departments are aligned with the overall mission, vision, values, and culture of Bozeman Health.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Master’s degree in behavioral health related field
  • Licensed in the State of Montana In a Behavioral Health Practice Discipline
  • Two (2) years of behavioral health experience
  • Two (2) years of healthcare management or supervisory experience
  • Preferred: Relevant behavioral health related certifications
  • Preferred: Knowledge of Integrated Behavioral Health models
Essential Job Functions:
  • Assists leadership with broad operations to ensure the provision of comprehensive departmental services in compliance with all regulatory agencies and hospital requirements.
  • Ensures a collaborative departmental approach to planning, care and service design and development of policies and procedures, which reflect the mission of the organization.
  • Coordinates and oversees departmental services. Continuously assesses, measures and improves departmental performance.
  • Demonstrates responsible management of all departmental resources.
  • Demonstrates clinical/technical and managerial competency. Ensures staff professional needs are met.
  • Assists with hiring processes and new staff training.
  • Ability to work in clinical capacity to serve patient care access needs.
  • Communicates policy, process, and procedure changes to staff.
  • Develops strategies to promote staff adherence to Bozeman Health policies, organizational change, and performance goals.
  • Analyzes and evaluates weekly reports about interventions, outcomes, staff performance identifying areas of concern, staff goals, and deadlines.
  • Leads, teaches, inspires, helps and consistently demonstrates hospital behavioral standards

  • Strong leadership managerial skills; ability to plan, delegate, monitor and improve work performance
  • Demonstrates sound judgement, patience, and maintains a professional demeanor at all times

  • Standard office equipment and computer applications; MS Office, EMR, internet applications etc.
  • Ability to work varied shifts
  • Current theories, principles, and practices for services to clients with serious behavioral health care symptoms and diagnosis.
