As a Power Systems Engineer in Engineering Services, you’ll provide solutions and services that help our customers protect and control critical electrical infrastructure and power systems worldwide.
As a Power Systems Engineer, a typical day might include the following:
- Designing automation, protection and power system solutions for customers
- Lead in training and assisting customers with the creation, design configuration, validation, installation, commissioning and operation of automation and/or protection systems.
- Working alongside Project Managers, Technical Leads, and Engineers from other focus areas
- Networking and programming knowledge is preferred
- Commissioning projects in the field
- Model, teach, and apply SEL Values, Principles of Operations, and World Class Manufacturing Principles.
- Understand. Create. Simplify.
- Other duties as assigned
This job might be for you if:
- You have a B.S. In Electrical Engineering or relevant discipline
- Experience working with logic engines, configuring networks, and SEL products
- Demonstrated knowledge in power systems, protection, and understanding of communication protocols (IEC-61850, DNP, Modbus, etc.)
- Understand SCADA applications
- 4+ years relevant application experience with electric power systems, power system protection and control, integration, and/or automation and communications applications.
- Willing to travel both domestically and internationally a minimum of 25%
- Strong writing, documentation, and speaking skills
- Ability to learn new skills and assume new responsibilities
- Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment
- Background check results satisfactory to SEL
- Negative drug test result(s)

Pay Range Data
We anticipate filling this position as a Project Engineer II $89,000 - 124,000. We are open to reviewing additional candidates with more or less experience and the pay range may differ if filled at a different level. Our pay ranges are determined by job, responsibility, and location. We base our starting pay offer and title on location and job-related factors such as candidate experience, training, knowledge, and skills.
