AutoCAD Drafter

Western Chutes, Compactors and Recycling Systems, a division of Buchanan Company, is seeking a motivated AutoCAD Drafter to join our Corporate Office team in Huntington Beach, CA. Western Chutes, Compactors and Recycling Systems manufactures and installs chute & compactor systems in multi-story high-density residential and commercial projects. Pay Range: $26.00/hr. to $36.00/hr.

Primary Duties:

• Assess contract and bid documents for constructability and product requirements, develop detailed submittal drawings and make recommendations to customers as needed.
• Create accurate, professional drawings in AutoCAD using established details and methods to assemble a complete package.
• Prepare accurate submittal packages which include supporting product information, drawings, diagrams, and schematics.
• Finalize submittal drawings with customer provided feedback. Use job site collected data and the submittals to develop final production drawings for fabrication.

To be successful in this role you will need:

· Experience in multi-story construction of several types, including and primarily Type V multi-family housing and hotels.

· Effectively communicate building and installation specifications to clients.

· Experience with MS Office Suite- Word, Excel, Access, Adobe

· Candidate must be skilled in reading architectural, slab plans, and specifications.

· Experienced working within, comprehending, and explaining building codes and requirements.

· Addressing changes and change-order requests.

Minimum Requirements

· AutoCAD Certificate or equivalent training and professional experience.

· 2-6 years of relevant experience, including the residential/commercial properties industry. Experience with Type V construction is highly desirable.

· Excellent in use of MS Office, Excel, Bluebeam, and related tools.

· Strong, clear, and effective verbal and written communication skills

· Effective people skills.
