Associate Pastor Job Description
PENN HILLS ALLIANCE CHURCH Position Summary:

Penn Hills Alliance Church is looking for God’s appointed individual who can work alongside the Lead Pastor in fulfilling its mission to help people understand, follow Jesus and respond to the Gospel (Romans 1:16).
The Associate Pastor’s responsibilities will be shaped by PHAC’s goals which are to:
1. Seed And Grow Young Adults And Youth Ministries
2. Develop And Operate Evangelistic Ministries And Missional “Small Groups”
3. Create Life-Altering Community Outreach Opportunities
4. Teaching – Preach 6-12 times each year (or as needed)

• Youth & Young Adults (45-50%)
• Youth & Young Adults – oversee the expansion and implementation of discipleship and strategic components for programming, activities, and lay leader development as it relates to an overall Youth & Young Adults Ministry.

• Evangelism, Missional Community Group, & Life Groups (25-30%)
• Saturate and Relational / Hospitality Evangelism – “De-Center”, Develop, and Grow
• Missional Life Groups / Community Groups
• Assimilation – together with the Lead Pastor, have as their committed purview a discipleship pathway (See Vision Statement) which leads seekers to become fully devoted followers of Christ and guides believers into the deeper life and values of the Christian life.

• Develop & Enable Community Outreach Ministries (10-20%)
• Social Media – directly oversee the development, application, and preservation of the church website, Facebook, and other social media initiatives.
• Local Community Outreach – be the intentional, strategic, and consistent facilitator of local outreach, seeking innovative approaches to contextualizing the Gospel in Penn Hills while safeguarding the simple command to love our neighbors.

Qualifications:
Candidates will be (or seeking to be) accredited, licensed, and ordained with the Christian & Missionary Alliance. The candidate will fulfill these responsibilities in keeping with his giftedness, desire for growth, and calling, and will be both a doer and an equipper. This is a full-time salaried position with a professional, retiral, and health benefits package. Associate Pastoral Search Church Summary
Penn Hills Alliance Church (PHAC): is a community oriented, God-seeking, gospel centered people-loving church in Penn Hills, Pennsylvania. This church has a strong core of lay leaders, Elder Team and a unified Ministry Board set up as an Elder Majority -along with a church demographic which is truly diverse, multi- generational and dominantly professional and working class culture. The current pastor is Senior Pastor David Lee with his wife Mary who have been leading the Fresh Start initiatives post COVID world.

History: Over 200 years ago, Forbes Road was cut by George Washington through the area as path through the wilderness to the west for his troops in the French and Indian War. This path became what is known as Saltsburg Road today. Penn Hills Township was adopted in 1958 and in 1976 it became formally known as Penn Hills.
Early industry in Penn Hills included coal mining and drilling for oil. This meant that the railroad industry was also a large part of the area, with a large and active rail yard cut through the hills. In 1906 Carnegie Steel Company purchased land from the Hershey family and founded the Universal Atlas Cement Company. For many years it was the largest employer in the area.

Penn Hills covers almost 20 square miles. The main roads, Frankstown Road, Saltsburg Road and Universal are home to many businesses and services. The area is comprised of a wide variety of architecture, both young and old, and is home to many long-time residents. Recently, Penn Hills has been recognized as one of the best real estate values in the area, with home prices extremely affordable.

Community Summary: Penn Hills and Plum are a picturesque townships of about 26,000+residents. Penn Hills is a home rule community located east of the City of Pittsburgh. It is bordered by Verona, Oakmont, Plum Borough, Monroeville, Wilkins Township, Wilkinsburg and the City of Pittsburgh. It is the second largest municipality in Allegheny County. It is nestled in an affordable living area of Pittsburgh. It is a wonderful place
to raise a family. Penn Hills’s early history dates to the mid 1900’s when European immigrants settled in the area. Today, Penn Hills still carries a robust European influence with a strong work ethic and high standards of excellence.
