Monomoy Regional School District is seeking a Middle School Assistant Principal who is an experienced, master teacher, who understands how to create academic excellence in classrooms, while also able to foster a supportive culture for our students in grades 5 through 7. Monomoy Regional Middle School is a well-provisioned building, serving the children of Chatham, Harwich as well as many students that school choice to the district. The building showcases a very strong culture, within both the student and staff, where effort, excellence, innovation, and continuous growth are valued. The ideal candidate will be able to work collaboratively with our administrative team, staff, and students to further enhance our learning community.

The Assistant Principal assumes a leadership role in the general administration and supervision of the schools. In addition, they assist teachers with curriculum planning, effective instruction and discipline. They assist the principal in the daily duties of administering and organizing the school and provides supervision and direction for students in instructional and non-instructional areas. The Assistant Principal reports directly to the principal in their daily responsibilities for the general administration and supervision of the schools.Qualifications include: A minimum of three (3) years successful teaching and/or administrative experienceMassachusetts Principal/Assistant Principal Certification covering Grades 5-8Bilingual in English and Spanish preferredExperience in teaching or related experience in public education at the elementary/middle school level preferredExperience teaching or related experience supporting elementary level individuals with Special Needs preferredResponsibilities include: Model compassion, understanding and empathyDesign and implement professional development Review school data and provide trends to administration, staff and students Facilitate 504/SST/RTI Meetings Oversee student discipline procedures and restorative practices Plan and implement state and local testing schedules Work collaboratively with staff to improve your/their instruction, and other practices Attend before/after school related eventsCollaborate daily with administration
