We have immediate openings for Assistant Mechanic (Grounds Maintenance Dept) for governmental buildings in multiple locations in Denver Metro and Greater Denver areas. These positions offer the initial benefits of weekly and electronic pay and accrued sick leave but can go internal to offer a wide range of benefits to include, but not limited to: holiday & vacation pay, health/dental/vision insurance, retirement savings, and much more!

Shift: 6:00 am - 2:30 pm Monday - Friday with possible overtime as needed
Pay: $21.92 - $27.06/hr DOE
SUMMARY:
Responsible for maintenance, care and inventory for all Grounds-related equipment throughout the facilities.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Completes maintenance, service, repair and overhaul of all grounds equipment.
  • Maintain shop and equipment in a safe and organized manner. Follows all safety rules and regulations.
  • Organizes and maintains a written service record for each piece of grounds equipment.
  • Assists in purchasing, stocking and organizing regularly used parts.
  • Uses computer to maintain up to date inventory records.
  • Participates in on-call snow removal as assigned.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • One (1) year grounds equipment maintenance.
  • One (1) year welding, both arc and gas.
  • Must have phone for emergency contact.
  • Must meet insurability requirements (Clear MVR).
  • Criminal background check and fingerprinting required for hire.

REQUIRED CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, AND REGISTRATIONS:
  • Valid Colorado driver’s license.
  • Ability to obtain a CDL Class A at some point during employment.

PHYSICAL AND MENTAL DEMANDS/WORK ENVIRONMENT:
  • Good motor skills.
  • Heavy physical lifting - over fifty (50) lbs. Items will be of various shapes and sizes.
  • Overhead lifting and squatting required on daily projects.
  • Repetitive motion (i.e., sawing, welding, etc.).
  • Standing, bending, kneeling.
  • Climbing stairs, ladders and vehicles.
  • Squatting.
  • Pushing and pulling.
